FISHING THE "BOB"
The Bob Marshall has hundreds of miles of rivers and streams, but the South Fork of the Flathead River, one of Montana’s best kept secrets, is a fly fishing paradise with mile after mile of exciting, unforgettable water.
You can expect to catch between 20 to 80 Native West Slope Cutthroat a day, anywhere between 12 and 19 inches with a rumored 20 incher from time to time.
The South Fork of the Flathead River is also one of the few areas in the lower 48 states that allows you to target and catch the Native Bull Trout. Bull Trout in excess of 35" can be caught and are often times considered a “bucket list” fish for many fly fishermen. Many of the drainages that empty into the South Fork of the Flathead River get very little pressure year after year and give our guests the opportunity to fish in a true wilderness setting.
Prepare yourself to leave behind the pressures of daily life and enjoy the quiet beauty of the Bob Marshall Wilderness.

During your trip you will enjoy some of the most spectacular trout fishing in America with a backdrop that is often times only dreamt of. We will move camp every couple of days during your trip, so you can fish various areas or drainages during the course of your fishing adventure. If you want to combine some still water fishing into your trip, we also can take you to some mountain lakes to mix it up a bit. On some trips we will create a base camp and leave from camp to fish up river and downriver each day. We will be able to be as involved in your day as you would like, we can have a guide be with you all day to lead you to various spots or we can drop you off on the river and you fish your way back to camp for the day. We are very flexible and will do our best to accommodate your needs.
In the spirit of conservation, Cheff Legacy Outfitters recommends only de-barbed hooks. These trips are customizable for overall duration of the trip, days/miles spent riding and how many different creeks or bodies of water we fish. Contact us to let us know what you are looking for and we will give you the best options to customize the trip you have in mind.
